Subscription Period
A subscription period is a required element of a subscription plan. It determines how often the customer is billed and, in some cases, how often recurring purchases are shipped or digitally delivered.

Periods can be defined on the order of days, weeks, months, or years. Crystallize allows for two types of subscription periods:
- Recurring Period (required) - The interval for the subscription.
- Initial Period (optional) - This defines the length of the first part of the subscription, and can have a different configuration than the recurring period. You can use this to tailor a special offer to customers, allowing them to try out the subscription at a discount or as a free trial for a limited time.
